Much tighter paper. A coupla comments:
1) I thought the why question was going to be why does the US maintain this really bizarre immigrations status (TPS) and your answer was going to be how it is able to manipulate it to leverage influence in the El Salvadorian Election (a vote for ARENA (whuch the US supported) was a vote to extend TPS, a vote for the frente was a vote to get in revoked- the notion that the gov could negotiate anything better than TPS did not enter the debate).
2) The way you frame the question now is perhaps not that puzzling (why was TPS such big issue in the ES elections?): TPS is such as big issue in ES because 1/6 of the population lives in the US.
3) Can you answer why did TPS help ARENA win using analysis of contemporary newspaper accounts? If so how? IS this the right question to ask?
4) Overall a much tighter and clearer paper.
